| FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS There are so many questions in life and many of them are very hard to answer! If you are wondering who you are and what you want to become professionally, we really hope we can work with you to help you figure out the answer to those questions, through taking part and excelling on one of our courses. What do I need to do to enrol? Firstly complete and lodge an enrolment form. An information pack will be sent to you. An interview is required and successful applicants will be notified by mail. What are my chances of getting in? This depends on the time of year you apply and the number of enrolments already accepted. Our enrolment capacity is 60 students, so it is wise to enrol early in the year. Will the course be recognised elsewhere? Yes. St Patrick?s Institution of Education is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) so our courses are recognised by industries Australia-wide and internationally. Other RTO?s include TAFE and Universities. Can I use my Diploma to get into a University course? Yes. However it must be a related course for example you can not do Business Administration and apply for a Science course. Courses must be related. We have an articulation agreement with the University of New England who will grant 48 credit points towards a Bachelor of Business. How do I get to St Patrick's? Our premises is located on the Corner of Devonshire and Riley Streets, Surry Hills. The entrance to the Institute is located in Marlborough Street. For a map of the location click here. Many buses also come into the area via Central Station, Elizabeth Street and Crown Street, Surry Hills. Further information on our website Scholarship page. Do I need to have completed my HSC? No. We accept students at the end of Years 10, 11 or 12. We also have a number of students who have left school several years ago. We also accept mature age students who are seeking to increase their skills and qualifications. What happens if I drop out of the course? You will receive a Statement of Attainment for the units you have completed. Do I have to be Catholic to attend St Patrick's? Not at all, we welcome students from all denominations, however we are run within a Christian framework which students and their families must be comfortable with. Nobody is made to take part in any form or religious activity or listen to any religious instruction. I'm an ex-student and have lost my graduation certificate - how do I get a new one? Replacement of certificates costs a $30 administration fee. Contact us to let us know your name and graduation year and payment details so that we can send one to you. |
