About this course

COURSE DURATION: Within 14 months of 24 months via traineeship

The Diploma of Management is designed for those working as managers who want to extend their knowledge and capabilities in management.


The Qualification Gained

You will have the knowledge to work effectively with and lead people in achieving established goals. You will be equipped with the tools to further develop your team leadership and people management skills. You will be able to take an active part in motivating, mentoring, coaching, and developing team cohesion.


The delivery of this course

We focus on classroom-based training of small groups, combined with self-directed workbooks, some online learning and the continual support of your course trainer. Our ‘blended’ approach produces excellent training outcomes.

The Competencies Achieved

 

The course is composed of a series of training modules that address a set of core management skills. You will complete eight units of competency within these modules and a full training day is devoted to each module. In addition to the formal training days, there is an induction session, and interviews at the middle and the end of the course.

On-site training is available for traineeship groups of ten or more.

As a Diploma of Management (BSB51107) graduate, you can undertake the Advanced Diploma of Management (BSB60407).   Graduates also gain credit towards a series of degree courses with a range of providers.  

Prerequisites to apply  

The qualification is available to those with established work experience in a management role, either as a new entrant or as an existing worker traineeship.  

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)  

If you have completed other management training courses, you may be eligible for credits for some study units. We can provide an RPL kit that helps you to assemble your evidence of prior learning in a structured way. A qualified trainer and assessor will then interview you and assess your portfolio of evidence. This will determine whether you have the required management competency to qualify for RPL credits.  

Traineeships  

When completed as a traineeship, the course is for a total of 24 months, with formal training completed within 18 months. The traineeship can be completed sooner depending on various factors, including relevant work experience.  

Financial assistance  

Employers please note that government funding is available for staff completing the Diploma as a traineeship.    

St Patrick’s Institute of Education is a Registered Training Organisation approved by the Australian Government to deliver this course and issue the Diploma
